In the spring of 2000, Trolls Cottage began work on their first "studio" album. Recordings took place in the actual Trolls Cottage on Vashon Island and Kyle Rice's Vashon Island studio. The 12 tracks were completed in just a few days. Cover art was created by Casey Buxton, and Erik Reimnitz. The back cover photo of Earl Clay jumping over a large fire at sunset was taken by Aaron McCoy.
