Olympia Hempfest was founded in 2003 as a gathering of 500 people on the original Washington state capitol campus in downtown Olympia and has grown into one of the major Olympia events in just under its fourth year, with a annual theme of “Helping” each year Oly Hempfest strives to break down the barriers and remind people about our heritage and our responsibility to be active citizens. Oly Hempfest 2008 will feature 16+ musical acts that are made up of regional touring bands and Olympia’s most prominent up coming artists performing. Opening for Trolls Cottage at The Wild Buffalo will be Zicatela, a fresh, talented Bellingham funk fusion group dedicated to swirling hips and moving bodies. Guaranteed to turn any arm-crossed-toe-tapper into a wild-eyed-sole-stomper. Trolls Cottage has the absolute honor of opening for the legendary Eek-A-Mouse and we’re stoked about it! It is not only Eek-A-Mouse’s 6 feet 6 inches height that makes him one of Jamaica’s most individual talents. He has created a style all his own, and gone on to become something of an international phenomenon quite apart from the rest of the world of reggae. Hylton’s unusual name was originally that of a racehorse upon which he frequently lost money; when the horse finally won a race, he had, of course, refused to back it. Come on up to Neumo’s for a fantastic night of music!

We're bringing back the annual Sub-Pop Masked Ball and doing it big, with Trolls Cottage on board. For years, this annual event was the most anticipated party of the year....so we plan to make this particular party bigger and better than ever before. Costume contest, plus more surprises in store. $8 cover. 21+

This will be a funky night in Old Ballard, so mark it on your calendar......the night before Thanksgiving, a perfect night to go out and have a great time...then sleep in and throw down some turkey dinner!

Opening the show will be Missing Players, then Project Lionheart and rounding out the night, Trolls Cottage.  What a great lineup, get there early as we plan to fill the house.

Trolls Cottage is excited to be opening for John Brown's Body, along with Seattle band Kore Ionz. Since the release of JBB's last album, the band, which hails from Boston and upstate New York, has gone through significant changes. Lead singer Elliot Martin underwent throat surgery, several band members departed and most significantly, the band suffered the loss of bassist Scott Palmer. Palmer lost his battle with cancer in 2006, only six months after his diagnosis. That subject is addressed in the song "Ghost Notes." Emerging from these changes, the band's current line-up is a focused, more experimental outfit than ever before, challenging the usual notions of contemporary reggae. Use of instruments like the African kora and cello on the track "So Aware," and the hip hop influences all over songs like "Shake The Dice" and "Make Your Move" continue an evolution of sound that could be heard on JBB's two previous recordings, and is now front and center on this release. Recent live showstoppers like "Give Yourself Over," "Zion Triad," and "Push Some Air" are included here too. And "Speak Of The Devil" features a vocal collaboration with Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite, whom JBB front man Elliot Martin considers "ridiculously prolific and the most progressive reggae artist out there."

The northwest has long been known as a prolific breeding ground for popular music and extraordinary musicians. We are fortunate to live in a community that fosters the arts and recognizes its significance. NPACF is proud to launch its own homegrown music festival, an annual event that will showcase the talents of the young local arts. This year's concert will feature Panda Conspiracy from Bothell, Staxx Brothers from Mill Creek, and Trolls Cottage from Vashon Island.

Finally!! TROLLS COTTAGE & HAIKU-CHI throw a party together!! Why this has not happened sooner...we do not know. TROLLS COTTAGE has been busy writing and recording new songs and will play a few of them at the Nectar for the first time as well as some favorites from the past. HAIKU-CHI  features Andrew from the Seamonster, Nate Spicer, Paul Fischer, Dan Milam, Melissa Montalto and Woogie D, all of whom are prominent musicians who have graced the Seamonster stage.
